I don’t adhere to any specific religion. As for “our” background (Samurai will probably protest but) it’s a little different than Islam. Different kind of synthesis, if you will

I agree for Ali. My point was more about the Central Asia shamanic-like traditions still strongly subsisting here, but that other countries which are “supposed to have a majority of Muslims” don’t necessarily recognize or know, or even reject.

I get what you mean. Sort of like a blend of the pre existing shamanic traditions with aspects of Islam then?
About Ali, I find him even more interesting than Muhammad. Definitely get the impression that he was a kind man. Although that’s just from historic sources.

This was very well studied by French historians. The word “Turk” has a Chinese origin. In the time of Bilga Qaghan, a conversion to Buddhism has also been considered (or a mix with existing shamanic frame).
Then, things have evolved differently. “Turk” people (plural) have chosen Islam. Instead of imposing their belief system to the areas they were colonizing. Quite atypical. Maybe a sort of mea culpa too…
