Why do you think they store data?
The offical explanation is for the targeted advertising as thats their business model.

It is widely known they do. Pretty much all social media does. As a matter in fact you are able to download the data they have from you lol.
If you want to really leave one, you need to make a request to have “yourself” deleted from the actual database. Even the accounts information stay, if you don’t.
