That’s actually super deep.
Quite often, when the task and purpose of a particular incarnation is fullfilled from the point of view of the Higher Self, it takes the respective incarnational self back into the afterlife.
So if you don’t want to prematurely go into the afterlife, in case and once your task here on earth is done from the point of view your Higher Self, you need to tell your Higher Self to let you to continue living here on earth for the rest of the years for as long as the physical body still functions…

But also the analogy…
Finally when you think you’ve made it in life and became the best version of yourself, the Higher Self may say “ok, so we’re done in this incarnation, let’s bring you home into the afterlife, let me send you this meteor that will make it quick and painless for you”. 
Higher Selves often have a special type of humor.
