Iâd actually dispute the ârepresents a layerâ portion.
Thatâs a bit too platonistic for my current thought. I lean towards a nominalism. Math exists in the physical energy layer that defines a personâs mind. So it has the apparent solidity of a platonic form, but it is unique to the mind that apprehends it and it is reconstructed anew whenever someone is taught it.
Similar to the notion of morphic fields, but not possessed of the same definite form

The jhanas depend on stillness in meditation.
Theyâre similar to the first stages of real Taoist alchemy. One defining factor is the emergence of a ânimittaâ --âa signâ --a type of faint light that you can see in your head. It is the light of the yin spirit when your mind is very still.
Anything that can still the mind can help with entering jhanas. But absolute physical stillness is a pre-requisite.
For the real sciences of consciousness, there is a lot that depends on the physical lol.
