David Jacobs talks about how morals would be a different thing in a telepathic society. He got this idea from interviewing abductees and piecing together how the abductors were telepathic.
Could be why some of us seem to have a moral compass incompatible with standard people’s. Accidentally a little telepathic some of us might be. Or could just be a different level of valuing truth. Maybe both.

Only amateur level here.
Most people I think it’s a combination of conscience and conformity. Or conscience and “coolness”. But doing right to people even at the level of intention could be incompatible if it’s coming from a place of presuming that everyone else operates or should operate this way while also being founded on the presumption that everyone’s intention is as clear to everyone else as it is to you.
