Thank for the link.
I haven’t seen it yet.
The thing is that there was such thing as ancient propaganda.
Whenever Rome got a new Emperor or a new dynasty established, they would throw dirt on the previous Emperor, they would always bicker for laws to be changed, Patricians/Senators always favored true own interests, plus the Pretorian Guard was changing emperors like they were shoes, in a Roman fashion, by brutally murdering them, if course.
Indeed.
Rome had a HUGE Enemy, who tried to Conquer them, who was a constant threat to their expansion and even to their survival, and that was Carthage.
What happened when Rome won the final war and conquered their capital?
They burned it down, killed most Carthaginians and enslaved the rest (also, Genghis Khan did the same, to those who didn’t submit to his rule, many other Conquerors did it, most Civilizations/Cultures were quite barbaric/cruel back then)…
And they were utterly cruel, either when it comes to punishments or to entertainment.
So, yeah, it would be quite the horror, to see all their bad deeds on screen, yet i bet that (some) people would love such horror…
