The 72 Angels have their origin and root in the Kabbalistic system. In 1975, the excavation of a medieval Spanish grotto yielded Kabalistic manuscripts from an 11th-15th century which revealed a way to connect and interact directly with the Divine.
These 72 names that bear the name of God are also known as Ha-Schem Ha-Mephorasch (השם המפורש ha-Shem ha-mefôrash or ha-Shem ha-mejûchad or Schemhamphorasch meaning “the explicit name,” is an originally Tannaitic term[1] describing a hidden name of God in Kabbalah YHWH.
For this reason each Angel is considered an aspect of the Divine intelligence, they are energetic embodiments and vibratory expressions of the qualities and person of the divine and their purpose is to awaken our consciousness to the presence of the divine that already exist within us.
They act as a step down transformer of the energy of the high voltage source of the Divine/God so that it can be received into our human system harmoniously, when we invoke, pray or appeal to it and by partaking of them, we activate aspects of the divine within us becoming more conscious of our potential.
“Shemhamphorasch” is a corruption of “Shem ha-Mephorash”, (Hebrew: “the explicit name”, can be also be translated as “interpreted name”). The name itself is derived from Exodus 14:19-21, three verses each composed of 72 letters; by writing these out in boustrophedon form so that the second line is reversed, and grouping the letters in columns of threes (see table below), the names of 72 angels or intelligences or 72 Names of God are formed. “The Names of God from the Alpha and Omega”
(Or as the book of Revelation says: “When the living creatures (the four Kerubim the Letters of the Name) give glory to Him, etc. the four and twenty elders fall down before Him and cast their crowns before the Throne” (that is the Crowns, which each bear 3 Names).

The representation of 3 crowns, which assumed could mean service to the divine, but after some though it seems to represent these 3 words: Shem ha Mephoresch which is a hidden name for the god of Khaballa so we could interpret the 3 crowns, these ‘three rays’ as crucial element for the formation of ShemHaMphorasch aka YVHV Tetragrammaton (Yahveh)
This statement comes fourth that “Then each column will give a word of three letters, and there will be 72 names of three letters each, which are the Shem ha Mephoresch or 72 Names of the Deity, expounding the Powers of the name YHVH.”
From these names 72 Names of Angels are formed by the addition of, in some cases, the suffice YH which signifies Mercy and Beneficence, or in others of the suffice AL which signifies Severity and Judgment. Or as it is said: “And the Name is in Him, etc.” These 72 Angels rule over the 72 Quinances or sets of 50 of the Zodiac, and therefore each decanate or set of 100 of a Sign has 2 Quinances, and each sign has 3 decanates, which are again allotted to the Planets in regular order. This is the formation as given above (each Angel’s name containing 5 letters and each name of Deity 3.). These then are the Schem ha-Mephoresch or 72 Angels bearing the Name of God, classed into nine sets of 8, each answering to the nine choirs of Angels, and also divided into 4 great divisions of 18 each, each division under the Presidency of one of the four letters of the Name YHVH (Yod Heh Vav Heh).
The name Yod Heh Vav Heh (or) Yod Heh Vau Heh is made up of four Symbols.
The first symbol YOD which is male meaning right hand, fist, handle, pointing index finger, hand as as symbol of god, power & activity, seed, semen, penis
The second symbol HEH which is female meaning window, opening, apreture, desire, to be, exist, sighting of a star, to breath, to become
The third symbol VAV/VAU which is male meaning that which joins, nail, penis, peg which holds the door curtain before the Ark of the Law

The 72 Angels of Kabbalah are further classed as belonging to the decanates of the Zodiac as follows: 2 Quinances to each decanate. The first division of 3 Signs is under the Presidency of Y, the letter of Fire. The second Division of 3 signs, headed by the Watery sign Cancer, is under the Presidency of H the Letter of Water.
The third division of 3 Signs headed by 2 the Airy Sign Libra is under the Presidency of VAU/VAV, the letter of Air.
And the 4th division of 3 signs headed by the Earthy Sign Capricorn is under the Presidency of HEH final, the letter of Earth.
But it should be remembered that the most powerful rule of Y of Tetragrammaton is over the Fiery Triplicity; that of H over the Watery Triplicity; that of Vau over the Airy Triplicity; and that of H final over the Earthy Triplicity. In the 22nd chapter of the Apocalypse of St. John it is said that “The Tree of Life which bare Twelve manner of fruits and yielded her fruit every month, and the leaves of the Tree were for the healing of the Nations. And there shall be no more curse; but the Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it.
”This is exemplified in the drawing taken from the 3-8 Altar Diagram. The “Twelve Manner of fruits yielded every month” answer to the signs of the Zodiac and the Twelve Tribes of the Sons of Jacob.

These 24 Elders (24 Tirthamkaras) are present in a huge hall and surround the throne where they keep on blessing The One on the Throne. Each elder sitting in one of the present 24 seats surround the throne while being robed in white and wearing crowns of gold. In this Assembly is introduced the Lamb that is to be initiated. In front of the Throne are four remarkable beasts (living creatures): one of them is like a lion, another resembles an eagle, the third has the appearance of a calf, and the fourth has the face of a man. These beasts have six wings each, and are full of eyes all over; and they rest not night and day.
Briefly, the beasts represent the different kinds of souls that are embodied in the four elements (of matter), namely, the earth-bodied (represented by the lion, since he walks on earth), the air-bodied (represented by the eagle who flies in the air), the water-bodied (represented by the calf, which here is the young of the sea-mammals), and the fire-bodied (represented by the sun which is painted as the face of a man). Wings are a symbol for time, since it flies; and the number six is descriptive of the six aras (spokes) or a half-cycle in which four and twenty
