The human race almost hit 8 billion by the end of 2022
Whats your thought on this?
It’s mostly my country India that’s adding to the population China has slowed down.
Sometimes I feel like 2 child policy would be great here but it does have its negatives. China’s 1 child policy has led to an aging population which is not a good sign of a healthy society. India’s median age is 25-30.
It’s mind boggling to think that soon 1 in every 4 persons in the world will be Indian.
No need to feel like it’s a lot, once we become a space faring civilization, our population won’t be enough to explore other worlds. It’s just a matter of time.
Interesting. I always wondered if that would be feasible practically because we as humans are far too low in density
Like think our bodies vs arcturian bodies
We, physical. They, light.
So our race would just die out because the vessel we live in wouldn’t be able to bear the change in density conditions; we’d physically be ripped apart by a too powerful light
That’s scary to think of
Maybe they should put a 2 child policy in India till 2050 and remove it after that. Even the 30 years (approx) will help in controlling the population. It’s kinda insane how it’s growing.
Isn’t that kinda the point?
old people die and the left over young people are way less than before.
Sure financial problems are maybe an issue in the midterm.
Then the young people can start again with more children if they want.
Not actually… young people have to pay more taxes till old people die. And they don’t die sooner. I sound mean but let me explain. Medical tech has advanced so much that life expectancy in developed countries is higher than ever before. So young people bear the burden of the Healthcare, social security etc. Look at Germany taking in immigrants left and right cause they need to sustain their welfare system. Many western countries are trying to attract immigrants from developing countries to help them pay their taxes. That’s why an aging population is no good. We need a good replacement rate but not the best or the worst. Middle ground is the way
Edit: ofc this probably doesn’t apply to the US cause their Healthcare is a mess.
Or maybe just stop prolonging life xD
Eternal nft
Thats a good quality of life and for only 4400 humans i’d reckon hahah but true!
I meant medical model today has succeeded in increasing lifespan; i mean look; many elderly wre living and living even it its not a very good quality.
We are wired to propogate. We were never wired to like live for so long unless there were (and now is) medical interventions haha.
Maybe its our attachment. Our attachment to life so large that its causing an increase and increase in population
Im moreso musing i dont actually know the technical details so prob ignore me haha
I’m a hypocrite so I shouldn’t speak about it
I may be naive, but I think that this global warming is natural - as in it happens by itself, with or without our intervention/contribution (or perhaps artificially created or sustained with technology?) and I don’t view any problem, if we are 8 billion or 12 billion (?) …
What’s the problem with more people?
I think we need to find ways to help people and to improve our lives and Earth/Nature/Other Species, not to stop human procreation/breeding …
I view this as a limiting belief, we have unlimited potential, we can find (new) ways to accomodate more people and even to help Terra heal …
