i finished watching ‘the lighthouse’ and wanted to know what it was based off of, so i searched it up.
this article referenced unrelatedly to the dover castle and it’s 2000 year old lighthouse, which is close to the oldest lighthouse, second to the tower of hercules in spain.
It was built in the year 1 which is insane. a lighthouse that that lived alongside christ
I visited dover castle on my trip to England a year back and realised i took a photo of the lighthouse without realising it’s significance. pretty cool
i grew up around dover and remember having such fond memories of the castle. such curiosity, moreso nowadays than back then. but cool nonetheless
