In case anyone is curious, in the old Moroccan red glass, the yellow liquid is a ‘Tumeric Health Shot’:
Juice of 3 Lemons
1 thumb-sized piece of fresh Tumeric
Half teaspoon dried/powdered Tumeric
Half teaspoon ground Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Half thumb-sized piece of fresh Ginger
Add lemon juice to a small ‘bullet’ blender
Finely chop the fresh Tumeric and fresh Ginger, add to blender
Add dried ginger, cayenne pepper and black pepper to blender
Blend well for a minute or more, fresh Tumeric and fresh Ginger are quite tough so unless you like it chunky, keep blending until it looks very liquefied.
Pour mix from blender into an old glass jar (because Tumeric stains) and pour out a shot or double shot into another old glass. Keep the jar in the fridge and use within a week.
Now… hang on to your hat… down in one for maximum kick or sip to savour!
