They donā€™t even turn up in my area lol.

I can imagine Samurai and Phillip Weiss just standing in the corner being the cool quiet mysterious dudes while everybody else is on the dance floor

Those guys keep surprising me every day, so personally Iā€™m not sureā€¦ They can be the life of the party, floor included :))

Thereā€™s a dance form which is Primitive Expression. You have duo-battles in it. That would fit them like a glove :+1:t2:

Woah wasnā€™t aware of this.

Forgive my ignorance. But are there nightclubs in Turkey?

More than youā€™d want to haveā€¦ Some streets are fully nightclub streets. Some are lame, but there are fancy ones too. + rock bars :v:t2:

Wasnā€™t sure how religious/liberal Turkey was. Iā€™ve only met two Turkish people in my life (excluding you). Both of them were pretty open.

Eyyyyy

I can understand question marks because thatā€™s the image which is spread by the current government. But many regions and mentalities are more than liberalā€¦ like my city (ultra hated by conservatives. They call us the ā€œforeignersā€ lol).

Iā€™ve actually met more Turkish people (outside the UK). But all these people were extremely religious sunni muslims (my dadā€™s colleagues) that I met in Saudi Arabia (understandable). So that really skewed my perception of the average Turk.

Yes, it happens. I surely have some stereotypes about other countries too. I try to avoid as much as possible though, since Iā€™ve spent my life answering questions like:

  • Are there any blondes in Turkey?
  • Oh you came to a classical music concertā€¦ How come?
  • Do you know what is snow?
  • Where did you park your camel?

etc. etc. lol

Haha lol. Iā€™m thankful to have seen loads of you guys. Turks, Syrians and Iraqis can be whiter and blonder than Scandinavians.

Hereā€™s another confusion ;) Turkish and Arabic are very different languages. Not even the same linguistic origin.

For example, I canā€™t read one single word in Arabic letters. Most of us here canā€™t.

Another example: I can understand when an Uzbek speaks, but canā€™t understand an Egyptian ;)

I was aware of that but I imagined youā€™d be able to read the Arabic script because of religion? (forgot you werenā€™t muslim lol).

But yeah, wasnā€™t Turkish originally written using the Arabic script before switching over to the latin script?

And yeah ironically Arabic is more similar to Hebrew. Persian and Hindi are part of the same linguistic family.

Makes sense :) Iā€™m assuming you can understand Azeri and Kazakh as well?
