Can someone please give me some of the most scariest movies you have ever seen. Possibly with very disturbing images and f’d up narratives and etc as well? I am a huge horror movie buff and in decades of my existence (since elementary), I have not foundt one (I have seen many many lol believe me) that frightens me. (Mainly into supernatural demonic ones) I watch them alone and in pitch black too, and still nada. lol . And like horror movies that actually have a good story and plot as well. Also I got into Rom Coms too so shoot me some great ones of those too. I wanna watch at least one movie tonight since it’s been ages since I have watched one. Thanks
I found Substance pretty disturbing, I think it was from last year. I actually felt a bit sick afterwards and needed fresh air. It’s more disturbing than scary though.
I didn’t like the endin lol… It started off pretty good, but the endin really sucked so bad imo. I think the overall message was good though. Plus I am into horror movies that are supernatural, wit demons, ghosts, curses and etc etc. True story coulda/did happened typa shit haha
Hey man,
although a series, sure try FROM, it’s a great one and very different from any classic horrors.
Hereditary jk it’s the worst horror I have seen ever since I got out of diapers.
In the last few years people have blurred lines between horror and disturbing / traumatic movies.
Barbaian (2022) pretty f*dup movie reminded of the real case from Austria, after I watched the movie I had to take a break from devices for a while.
I never dared to watch A Serbian Film but some of the great horrors to me personally are:
Silent Hill
February / The Blackcoat’s Daughter
Longlegs
Descent
Black Phone
Z (just Z nothing else)
Thanks bro! Ima check it out…
What?? Me and @Maoshan_Wanderer love this movie! lol…
I loved it, tho it’s not the typical ‘horror’ movie I like. But it’s got some sense of reality to it. I hate fantasy movies
I only seen Silent Hill and Descent. They were meh lol… I will try the other ones
Where should I be able to find this bro?
“Talk to me” is very very good too. Alot of people said it’s very scary, but tho it wasn’t scary to me, the storyline was sooo good. And I guess you can say it was disturbing as well. I also love the ‘Insidious’ series, but only the first 3 I think. Rest sucked ass, especially the last one haha
Well, I know it’s on MGM+, maybe on other streaming platforms as well.
Descent is the best horror set in caves, there is no better movie when it comes to cave horror yet, people who do adventure sports love it and you are probably one of the very few who didn’t like it which is fine as horror is always subjective.
Silent Hill is the best game turned into a horror movie.
But Hereditary is so damn overrated, man for the love of god the endless discussions fans trying to decipher the meaning between lines which even director didn’t intend are very very off-putting, many horror fans don’t like it many even hate it but such voices are drowned on horror reddit sub and by Hereditary fans.
I can only surmise those who never had any introduction to Goetic daemons or heard of King Paimon must have really liked it.
Okay, I didn’t not like it. It was not bad. I think it’s just the fact that for many many years I was locked up, and all these mags kept hyping it up, so I expected more haha… But naw it wasn’t bad.
I needa to watch ‘Silent Hill’ again. I haven’t seen it in so long but it never like imprinted my memory you know? I just remembered it was okay.
And yes, like you say, it’s all subjective. I really loved ‘Hereditary.’ Not like it was scary or anything but I just liked the story of it and how it turnt out. Like the whole plot and all. i read the reviews though. There were people who thought it was like depressing or etc, or too slow at first.
Except for some goofy scenes like flying through the air in the bed room the cinematography was decent, the director shouldn’t have decapped the kid, it was very disturbing for me which made me hate the movie even more. King Paimon is no where close to violence but the weird director ruined Paimon’s image forever in the minds of people who didn’t know him before the movie.
Also A24 really spent good money in marketing and it was a successful campaign, if this isn’t taught in business schools then I wonder what they are teaching.
I didn’t know this bro, thanks for sharing. I’m green when it comes to this kinda stuff lol… But I used to play the ouija board religiously as a kid though. ![]()
Try the movies of Gaspar Noe, a French brutalist. They’re extremely disturbing sometimes, though, so you’ve been warned!
I am not gonna post recommendations of pathetic shit like the Saw movie series, because these types of movies are really for mentally disturbed viewers.
Instead, here are some recommendations of horror movies that score through innovation instead of just blood, gore and torture:
-
Freddy’s New Nightmare (1994) if you like classic horror atmosphere.
-
28 Weeks Later (2007) if you like zombie apocalypse stuff.
-
Silent Hill (2006) if you like interesting visual ideas.
-
As Above, So Below (2014) if you like mystery and exploring the unknown.
-
Fall: Fear Reaches New Heights (2022) if you are afraid of heights.
-
Savior (1998) if you want war horror.
Otherwise this:
Rom Coms → French Kiss (1995)
Okay, I guess when I say ‘disturbing’ or ‘frightening’ images, I guess I am referring to like stuff like Insidious, Conjuring, Talk to Me, or stuff like that. I don’t get disturbed, so I just go on what people say, like the comments lol… “It was sooo frightenin!” “Very Disturbing!” “Scariest movie of the year” Lol just go by that.
Thanks brother, will see what it’s about. ![]()
Though I am more a fan of demonic, supernatural, ghosts, and stuff of that realm, I actually loved the Saw series, and I am pretty balanced.
The gore and stuff really didn’t bother me at all. But I thought the movie was very clever and and the plot and etc was very good. Like the meaning behind it and etc. Now if it were like just a movie wit senseless killing and not a very good story, and no good plot, now that I will pass. lol
Seen all of them and LOVE them. I grew up to Halloween, Friday the 13th, Freddy, and horror of that sort.
I did love Zombies as a kid alot. Not sure why I haven’t seen this one, but I will add it to the list.
So many times I was gonna see this but I seen something that I thought would be better. I will watch this now for sure. It sounds very interesting lol
I LOVE heights haha… Maybe it will give me inspiration

DEFINITELY watching this… I am not sure if you seen it or not, but “Love Rosie” is such a good Rom Com lol… Prolly one of the best imo. I seen some really really good rom coms last year.
Edit: ‘Eternity’ was another recent favorite Rom com of mine lmao… ALL MY ROM COM LOVERS OUT THERE MUST WATCH ETERNITY!! It’s so clever and awesome…
I love ‘Shallow Hal’ too!! One of my all time favorites… “Love Hard” and “Always be my Maybe” be soo good too… These movies are not your average boring rom coms but are actually clever, funny, and entertainin… imo. I only can watch certain Rom Com round certain people, cuz I end up cryin… lmao Shit makes me so happy haha.
Not really horror but terrifier 3 nearly had me puking my guts out in the cinema
Seen this and was not a fan lol… This is a perfect example of what I was saying to Jaaj here:
Eden Lake (probably most scary if you live in the UK)
The human centipide (I saw the first one and the sequel)
