I agree with people having free speech to that degree. I think the left has gone too extreme with limiting free speech. I believe people have the right to voice their opinions on things like vaccinations and not get penalized for it. I wasn’t for any of that. I’ve been against cancel culture from the beginning.
So yes, I am talking about extreme cases.
I am talking about extreme cases cause extremes are usually what we see when we let allow full free speech. The most toxic of the population take over those places and burn it down (remember free specch reddit alternative called voat?). These places don’t last.
In essence I believe we should be able to voice whatever our opinions are so as long as we are respectful/considerate of others or ain’t trying to incite destruction (unless rebellion is necessary). I do believe we have to grow up as a species and evolve to not allow words to have so much power over us. Another person’s perspective is their own and shouldn’t be taken so damn personally. But our egos really can’t help it.
That being said, I accept humanity in the state it is in at the moment. I have to or I’ll never be at peace. And to be at peace is to adapt and learn how to navigate through this world.
I don’t see the cancel culture movement changing any time soon considering it’s just the human collective consciousness reacting to everything so strongly, now that all information is available to everyone. We are all on top of eachother all the time now and can’t deal with contradictory ideas.
What’s happening is massive culture clashes. And we just haven’t figured out as a species, how to communicate with people who see the world differently. We have a long way to go.
(I didn’t flag your post. The bot did cause you used some watched word. Idk which one though lol)
