Yes. When it’s legitimately* gifted to you (as this was), the field becomes yours. The field protection is based off of who is the rightful owner. As the rightful owner (and assuming your field has “normal” field protection, not Order by 3), you can share it with your immediate family.
*I say “legitimately” because, in the past, people have said “gifted” when they really mean “pirated”, “copied” or “overly shared.” I know you’re not using “gifted” in that way.
