Yo guys tell me how you do fasting. I’m thinking of doing dry fasting to heal my dopamine receptors and to improve my results with fields
I would really highly recommend intermittent fasting as a lifestyle.
For instance, I eat when I am actually hungry. You know, not a little bit, but truly sincerely hungry. Not starving either, but at a point where my body requires nutrition to move on.
The consequences are that you stop eating at “normal” times, because you are actually following along with your body. Everything becomes more tasty in this way, when you eat. Even what you previously considered bland is then interesting.
This balanced approach is very healthy for the body, for me at least. I still eat, well anything really. Just that I eat in a more balanced and mindful way. So what can happen is that I don’t have breakfast, or another day I skip lunch, or another I skip dinner. There probably is a pattern, but it is much more dynamic than the classic 3 meals a day.
Try it out for yourself. Be a scientist for your own lifestyle
It’s like working out, you have to find something that actually works for you so you can stuck with it.
Doing less serious fast consistently is better than sporadic dry fast.
My advice is to ease into it.
Also - my experience since I’m doing yoga/spiritual practice more seriously is that these practices really help to be in tune with your body… so sometimes 20+ hour fasts are nothing because you’re not hungry anyway.
I generally “mess it up” by having tea or coffee and it creates acidity so I have to eat… but I have found that if I continue to just drink hot water, I can easily fast for a long time but its no effort at all.
have u found it helps with your results with fields and general spirtual endeavours ?
not looking to lose weight, i’m just interested in all the mental benefits of it
thanks for the tips
It’s not my focus at the moment, so I can’t say much there. I assume it should help because digestion is a resource heavy process and those can be directed elsewhere.
Deepening meditation and spiritual practice, yes.
Body more flexible and lighter too. Mental clarity yes.
If you havent fast before, try something easier.
For example, skip your dinner (or no food after 1pm). Don’t skip breakfast or lunch if you are just starting fasting. If organs are hurt, it takes a long time to recover
This will be up to the constitution of the person.
For some people its very natural to not have breakfast while others wake up hungry. :)
Agree with @MonkeyOwl. It is more common for a practitioner to skip breakfast. But experiment and find what works for you.
I would start slow, do a 16 hour fast with water once or twice a week. Maybe do it on a weekend when you are not working. Be sure to break your fast with 2 micro meals of good clean protein like broiled chicken or tuna. space those out by 30 minutes each. I always put a nice herb like parsley on top with the protein i break my fast with. Never eat heavy carbs to break fast coz your body gets sensitive especially after a 16 hour fast.
After your body is used to that you can do it more and no water.
If you go more than 24 hours your stomach releases stem cells to heal your gut. pretty cool
I love fasting. I usually skip breakfast, sometimes lunch
I eat once or twice a day
I would say I drink lots of water
Interestingly, after I wrote this, a colleague told me she never eats breakfast. She says anything she eats tastes better in this way
I can tell one thing that I am sure of. Do not eat sweet , and during fast, do activities you have to do, even you do not like.
Intermiten fasting 1 to 2 meals a day the most .
For more profound experience if you have juicer do leafey greens juices start slow but by my experience amazing transformation happen wen is 2/3 liters of green juice per day
Just do a normal IF type schedule. Finish eating at around 9-10pm and then upon waking up fast for the first 4 hours of the day minimum. That’s what I’ve been doing for 5 years and I’ve lost 43 lbs on it and have healed my dopamine levels from it as well.
try Islamic dry fast 2 days in week it is helpful from sunrise to sunset let the sun the time for fasting when it come fast when it gone breakfast and pardon me for my english
