Is it true if I play a morphic field on put it on mute it will still work

Not on mute, no.
It must be perceived at some level, so low volume is fine, but there must be some volume.

i know for sure flicknova makes fantastic morphic field which works at even mute. and the effect spans to 90%; even at mute. but sapien does not. youd have to play it at audible volume

Restating, SapienMed fields were not made to work on mute, so if OP was asking about SM morphic fields, the answer is no.
