I have the same question.
Its a ton more fun and convenient to have servitors doing tasks instead of you having to manually do everything yourself. Its like having your own pokemon or better example a guard god. Why sit outside and guard the house when you can train a dog to do it. Its also badass when astral traveling and having your own Pikachu or your own Skully companion on your side( pic of sorcer in DCUA with jhis green skull that heals)…
like if you see Dreamweaver in astral he usually has Skully by his side which looks so badass more do then if he came alone.
