Has anyone compared listening to audios on Gumroad by viewing the file compared to it downloaded already onto their device? I have made the discovery by going to the song page and click on the download link and instead of downloading…click view instead. I feel like the audio is 10X stronger. I’m not sure if the field gets weaker once it’s downloaded or just a placebo effect. Has anyone agree with me or just try it yourself…it’s like the field has a new experience to me. Love it!
It actually doesn’t.
So what if it’s a placebo effect for you? (I’m being serious.) The placebo effect is a real effect. Our minds–your mind is powerful. Use your fields however you feel best for you.
I have not found any difference in the quality/quantity of energy if the same track is:
- Streamed on Youtube
- Streamed on Patreon
- Downloaded as Mp3 from Patreon
- Streamed on services like Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify
- Legally downloaded from the above services
- Mp3 downloaded via Patreon and streamed via cloud (YT Music, iCloud)
Only thing would be Apple Music/iCloud - in case the track gets matched, you need to be mindful as now the track playing is no longer the fielded version.
Mao what do you mean by matched ?
Sorry, @Byjrodriguez missed your message.
When you add tracks to your iTunes library, they get matched with the audio track on Apple cloud.
- Let’s say I download the audio track for the field Hardcore and add it to my iTunes. It tries to see if this audio track is already present in Apple’s huge music catalog. As Dream uses a track from a possibly Indie source, this “match” will fail and the actual Mp3 will be uploaded - which also has the field. Dream does not usually use common/popular audio tracks which are already being sold on various sites, so I have not encountered this issue with Dream’s tracks.
- Now let us say I try to upload another audio - say Divine Beauty or Maximum Human by Psychic University. This time, apple music finds that this audio is already present in its catalog (because the original audio file used to add the field was a part of some album that was already on apple), but it does not upload my version of the mp3, but instead just says “matched”. So, when you play this song via apple cloud - it is not the fielded track that is playing, but instead, the “matched” audio which does not have the field (though the music on both of them is the same).
Thank God dream uses custom audio files that work well for my strategy…
YT Music is dumb - it does not “match” and just uploads whatever I throw at it, so it’s safer (although the UI sucks)
Another reason to never use Apple products…
Thank you for the response
I was asking because I storage all my fields in my one drive and use Spotify’s local files feature to listen to all my fields there but I don’t think Spotify do the “match” thing
