Maha Mritunjaya Mantra

(To be clear the image doesn’t have anything to do with the field. This is just a pretty sunset to depict how the field makes me feel.)

This field is on Patreon, and it’s incredibly beautiful. It’s available on both the $4.50 tier and the $22 tier.

I’ve been listening to it awhile and it gives me a wonderful sense of peace. It deserves its own thread for sure.

Feel free to share your experiences with this field, and any information you may know about the mantra. Here’s some information I found online.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra (maha-mrityun-jaya) is one of the more potent of the ancient Sanskrit mantras. Maha mrityunjaya is a call for enlightenment and is a practice of purifying the karmas of the soul at a deep level. It is also said to be quite beneficial for mental, emotional, and physical health.

Om Tryambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvarukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat

We Meditate on the Three-eyed reality
Which permeates and nourishes all like a fragrance.
May we be liberated from death for the sake of immortality,
Even as the cucumber is severed from bondage to the creeper.

That’s a nice one…

I recall listening to a rendition of it on Youtube when youtube was fairly new…

It was put under the title “Death Mantra” —probably meaning Death-Conquering mantra.

There was an interesting comment in the comment section where someone said that it was a recording of their grandparents singing it.

Sadly, I’m not able to find it again. It had more mellow pacing and instrumentation than the ones I’ve been able to find.

I think it’s been more than a decade since I heard it lol.

This one gives me an experience that is not to be shared… one of those things that lead you to say, “try it for yourself!”

Had the chance to visit Varanasi and I chanted this Mantra while I was there. It was truly an amazing experience. I could play this audio only once because my itinerary was packed lol That place really healed some parts of me and I can feel the effects of it in my meditation. I feel the change within me. I felt called to share this bit of my experience and express gratitude to this beautiful community for always inspiring me and giving me space to grow. Thank you Dream and Sammy! Thank you everyone  ily all!!
