Are you asking if you can re-use an item to put the servitor on? Apologies if I am misunderstanding

Nope, well, mmm, I’m going to assume it’s impossible hahaha. Thanks

Chatgpt:
But I was actually referring to the idea that someone, in the future, might get bored of the servitor and put it up for sale—like the object itself. If it could be purchased, meaning the object where the servitor of the hypothetical person selling it was anchored.

You can sell a physical item you own, certainly, but the servitor on the item cannot be used by another and you cannot advertise that there is a servitor present.

So, it’s not possible. Sad. Unu

Well, I guess this is because of the pirates, but I’m going to assume it can be inherited.

That’s an interesting question that I do not have an answer for. My intuition says it is one owner only.

I am pretty sure someone already asked that question on the forum and indeed the official answer was one owner only.

Dream commented on somebody‘s question if they could gift their object with the servitor and an ability to a family members here.

From Dream‘s response you can conclude that the servitor on the item indeed also works for other people and that it would be possible to use the servitor if you have the item, whether you were the person who installed the servitor yourself or somebody else did. That‘s at least how I understood Dream‘s answer.

The ELJOL333 question was about gifting an already activated servitor to others (which cannot be done), whereas the question Dream answered was about gifting a newly purchased servitor and ability to another person outright, without activating it for themselves beforehand. The gifted person would then be the sole owner and would activate it themselves.

short version:
you can gift a new servitor
you cannot gift a used servitor

He also asked if he can claim the Servitor back, if the other person stops using it, and if the Phoenix would be smart enough to understand the switched ownership. Dream answered yes, the servitor is smart enough to know when there is another owner.

But it’s hard to know for sure. Such scenarios haven’t really been discussed.

Yes, my understanding from that is that even if the “used” servitor was given to another person, it would work for the new person - possibly once both parties communicate with the servitor and inform them of the change in ownership.

That is probably better.

(answer from Dream)

Is there any way to retrieve these new servitors if they are lost, or if their object is broken? Should we now bury the item permanently to keep them safe?
