Absolutely. I feel the exact same… very restrictive as if it’s censured almost. But I think it has to do with chat gpt limitations regarding the version 5. If you search, a lot of people is complaining of the same overall

What i dont like about the new version is that the cards it draws are basically crap.
The question you pose influences the spread. It is not randomised, even if it claims it is.
You can try it - ask to draw a celctic cross for you in different scenarios, like
“I have just been through a break up”
“I have been offered an exciting new opportunity at work”
" i have been invited to a trip with some close friends that i havent seen for a while"
Etc.
It will give you a spread perfectly fitting to that situation and crafting a story. Like heartbreak will have 3 of swords in the middle, some healing / reckoning and then ace of cups or soemthing similar as outcome… the new work one will have ace of pentacles or page of pentacles and/or 3 of pentacles etc.
I would say the explanations it gives are great and you can have a convo with it about the archetypes etc. But use a physical deck to draw the cards yourself.
If you really want to have it draw cards then dont share anything and just have it draw them, and then afterwards ask it to give an explanation with the extra context.

When i ask if it drew randomly, it says yes and even explains in more detail, but clearly it is not random.
Try it :
Have 2 separate chats open, and explain different levels of detail about X situation and then have it draw a spread.
They will be different in a way in that the one where you gave more details, it creates a narrative with the cards themselves that fits the story close to perfectly.
