Oneness: theory vs practice

I owe @SammyG credit for this topic idea for two reasons:

1- Something he posted lately in the venting thread
2- I did the guided journey for unlocking one’s full potential yesterday and his voice, soothing, caring and gentle, made something I used to loathe doing so much easier to go through (by the by, I highly recommend that video because its potency cannot be overstated… Guided Journey : Unlock Full Potential - YouTube)

Now, concerning the subject title,

I think the most interesting observation I made was that for oneness to function, the illusion of separation is necessary… it’s the same as good vs evil, love vs hate, being vs nihil … one cannot exist without the other. Now trying to encompass a concept that was drawn from a brief chance stumbling upon Samadhi with language is futile, so I won’t philosophize any further on this basic observation as not to make myself a fool… but I do want to offer some pragmatic ways to implement the concept into our daily lives, and hopefully, in showing how it can be leveraged, I can encourage more people to take a spiritual path, because, there’s something in the air telling me that it’s crucial we do this very soon.

So, when it comes to embracing oneness, tying people to specific events or experiences we have is perhaps the hardest thing for us to overcome. The idea that everything we experience is of our own making (observing that there are higher laws at play) is difficult for us to process. He did that to her, she did that to me, they don’t want me to do this… it goes on and on and on… incessant noise blurring the faint and gentle voice of truth that echoes across all existence… I am doing this to me… I am… We are.

Moral contentions and social programming are very difficult to overcome because they are rooted in our lower consciousness that is most prevalent in this current vantage point of ours… The ego wants to protect the flesh golem/vessel we have because without it, it ceases to exist… So the basic evolutionary programming of tribalism tends to dominate most people’s experience, as on a sheerly salt-based awareness of the world, individuals alone, not imbued with divine power, are very weak and frail. This is why it’s so easy for us to subscribe to moral ideologies and dogmatic beliefs although the core of what they represent is really hallow and of no substance, i.e, no true definition of good or evil exists outside the consensus of a collective… and this is where I tie this back to a previous thread I made about the illusion of separation. People with a mild sense of knowing will find it easy to abuse this lack of awareness to further their own agendas and goals.

Accordingly, since it’s something people can use to manipulate others, surely embracing and understanding oneness is bound to have a few benefits, right? Well… less burdens, loosened grip of the ego, more power and freedom, and better results from fields are all possible outcomes from the mere acceptance of this concept … Sounds good?

Now I hear you, it’s one thing to say everything happens for a reason, and another to empathize with someone that caused others significant harm… I mean, that makes you a bad person, right? Well, embracing the concept of oneness, that individual, by harming someone else, is engaging in self-harm. I understand how difficult it is to view things that way, but that event is neither bad nor good, it simply is. Imagine ascribing the same dualistic perception unto storms, earthquakes or natural disasters, you will either feel silly, or end up making a blasphemous declaration about the Divine, falsely claiming they are evil. The truth is, we are, indeed, one… part and parcel of the same living, breathing and expanding organism and consciousness. Atoms, information, energy, minerals, animals, “bad” people, “good” people, we are all mind, all the same “stuff”.

Now, as to my promise, that embracing this concept will help you… What point is there to judge others when in doing so you are condemning yourself? Yes, yourself. Imagine how much energy is wasted in trying to punish or developing a bias towards someone? Imagine where that energy can go… and imagine the many bad ways it can return to you. So you harm to punish harm? Your intentions are good? So if your intentions are good you can turn off a fire with more fire? Now imagine if you were more understanding… that this fool, scoundrel, criminal or what have you is part of you, and try to show them love, not out of weakness, not out of fear, but out of understanding, out of a position of authority and power, for indeed, you are authoritative and powerful when you function according to higher laws, operate under a higher jurisdiction… how many blessings can you have? and how many people do you save and help by fixing that part of your wholeness instead of condemning it? Loving those who treat you well is easy, showing love to those who don’t is divine.

Just this aspect of embracing oneness turns you into a leader, someone who can recruit others to their side, and someone who has no fear of others, less they have fear of themselves.

But this is the most basic application… there are many others… for instance, accept that you are one with the wind, one with space, one with the world… the same way you can feel your own feedback, the organism as a whole can share it’s feedback with you… about what you’re thinking, about what you’re doing… all it takes, is that you accept that it is part of you with enough conviction and genuineness. This will take your energy sensitivity to new heights… it will help you communicate or develop relationships with energies and fields… sky’s the limit really…

But I think the most important part is understanding that you do not die and cast aside that crippling fear… the “I” moving on, still lives on… and while this isn’t the whole truth, it is one that makes spirituality accessible even to the most die-hard materialists… a concept that bridges seemingly insurmountable gaps of separation.

So, in advert speech: Give oneness a try today and enjoy a massive buff to your vibration. This is a limited time offer that ends once the next singularity happens. I will read your entire post a little bit later, as I’m quite interested in this “oneness” thing. :grinning:

(it’s possible that I’ll edit this)

Hmm, you got me thinking, since we are one, we ought to see “bad people” as a natural but violent part of Nature, as a natural part of Oneness…

Now, we try to save ourselves from natural disasters, but we are not going to fight with earthquakes lol, but rather we are focusing on survival, same thing applies to “bad people” - we try to survive their inherent violent and “evil” nature, but it’s pointless to fight or change them, they are just a more “disastrous” expression of Nature/Oneness/Divine
(lol disastrous expression)…

Now I’ll read further.
It’s a Great Post.
Thanks for Sharing such High Quality Thoughts.

Edit: maybe we ought to limit “evil”, to contain it, just like we try to contain a fire, yet anything more than that, I think is kind of pointless (at least for now).

Edit: You took it to the next levels with the examples you gave:

I guess I was just lucky enough to get exposed to an alchemist’s interpretation/hierarchy of consciousness… to think of nature, the elements, planets and the world as conscious is odd from a modern perspective, but it was the rule back when we were more “connected” to that side of living before. The skies shouting and speaking to people, or messages being carried by the wind are reported so often, it takes a particular level of stubbornness to dismiss it all as part of culture or superstition, especially when you account for differences in time periods and geographical locations.

How are you going to benefit from a gemstone’s energy signature if you didn’t think of it as living? If someone believes that food can be “charged”, is it really you imbuing it with your own power and taking it back? Doesn’t that seem self-refuting? Doesn’t it make more sense that charging actually communicates to what is being consumed that you understand that it is alive and wish to utilize its essence for a higher purpose?

This actually made me recall Matthew 4:3-4:4 where the tempter told jeheshua to turn stone into bread during his fast, and jeheshua answered that it is not by bread alone that man lives, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God… tie that back to john 1:1, in the beginning was the word… and it seems, to me at least, that the point being shared here is that each and everything created can be used to sustain us… and this would only be a plausible thing if the essence of what we all are, elements, atoms, animals, minerals, etc. is the same.

I think another good way to look at it is, do earthquakes discriminate against “good” and “bad” the same as we do or do they follow a different set of standards?

Applying the principle of correspondence to this particular occurrence, since the only way for a storm to have biases towards a specific category of organisms is for it to be magically guided to do so, it would stand to reason, that humans who do exhibit such discriminatory tendencies, are under a spell.

People gravely under-estimate the value of their own will. Anyone that can turn your attention away from your life’s purpose and re-direct it either towards something else, or towards their own purpose, is having a much bigger piece of the pie.

In practice it’s much much more difficult to apply Oneness (also, there are slightly or quite different views on the idea/concept itself, as I’ve seen on the forum), at least if we look at the whole as an organism (in practical terms it kind of is), we ought to lessen the entropy and bring more love and health to the Whole, and of course there are countless ways to do it and I’m far from an expert, but the common idea among different individuals and different groups, among different views and beliefs even, seems to be to raise the vibration of the collective, to help ones own life and then the others, to ease or remove suffering, chaos, lack of clarity, disharmony, lack of unity, etc. within and without, and of course I’m viewing it through the lenses of My Own Experiences, through Christianity and Hinduism/Yoga (a little bit) and through the lenses of this forum and the Great Souls who Post Around Here, where I ve learned so many things.

Even if the Multiverse dies and gets reborn (is that it?), at the very least, we must make our collective incarnational lives Better, a More Enjoyable and Beautiful Journey.

Somehow related to the subject - - -
JAAJ posted an interesting take on time, timelessness, the whole, reality, beings, etc.:

From this level (the one you are tackling the subject from), I would denounce Truth and Illusion entirely.

As well as Oneness and Duality.

Dissolve all, for true Oneness that cannot be approached.

Just to add this too:
Maybe since it’s all now or the present is our chance, maybe we ought to help ourselves every single moment, live in the now, and raise our vibrations now, not tomorrow, not in a month or in the next lifetime lol.

I have this idea, this numbers game of - 10 to +10, and I should always be at 0 or on the plus side or at least as much as possible, and ideally on the higher scale too, like I should be +5 at least.

Now, this scale is just mine lol, and it’s flexible, but I’ll keep the - 10 to +10, just for convenience.

That’s a way to help myself and the collective (a little bit), through keeping my vibes High(er).

Probably this…

It is unfathomable tbh.

It would be like trying to grasp the ocean within the palm of your hands.

It cannot be done from the level of body, just as Oneness cannot be grasped from the level of Mind.

And i guess it can never be done, while incarnated?

Or…?

I mean, each being is the Universe condensed or a miniature universe in a practical sense.

You’re a bit like this atm:

Never saw this thread. Really good stuff.

Oneness as a framing device makes a lot of sense. It can cut through a lot of programming. It’s always useful to know that person condemned in media probably had a mother that loved them.

My only concern is that oneness as a description of reality or a cognitive empathy tool is all well and fine, but I think it could lead some (perhaps many) people into a self-destructive forms of passivity. So PSA, even if the coyote is part of oneness, the shepherd can still protect the flock.

Or even if my retarded stomach and head are asking for sweets and snacks, i gotta protect myself and them too, lol, life is made of self sabotage and bigger scale self sabotage, since/if we are one.

Maybe not the best reply, but it’s the best I got lol.

On a more serious note, if someone gets robed and can defend/protect himself, no point in not doing it, even if we are one.

Using this Analogy is also quite practical: healthy cells of the organism need to protect themselves from cancerous ones, and I think all of us are cells in a huge organism, the Multiverse.

Yes, we may be entirely and absolutely one being, maybe, but on a practical human level and on the whole incarnational level, we have distinctions between ourselves (even if they are illusory distinctions).

All within limits, of course. Wise people know those, but it takes some heuristics for the rest of us.
