Maybe I’ve spent too much time in theology lol. Most traditional theology would say that God’s love is constant for all of creation, but people block themselves from it by rejecting it or chasing after other things.
And if our belief is like a language God hears us speak in. We say “please give me ___” and we believe he has done it. He takes that to mean we actually want it and gives it to us. We say “please do ____ for me” and don’t believe he has done it. He takes that to mean we are saying we don’t really want him to do that thing. We just want to believe we wanted it. But we don’t actually want it.
Belief can be a powerful thing 
It’s like a consistency. Are we really saying the thing we’re saying.
