Some of the Auschwitz survivors who spoke at my school back in the day weren’t fond of him either… or one of my teachers whose mother was brain-damaged in Nazi electrotherapy neurology/psychology experiments…

They were always tough portions of the course to go through.

The teacher had a specialized elective in Holocaust Studies because of that connection, and it would usually make its way into the mainline history courses as well.

Tough, but worth learning from.

Just a random thought
We all are in this world chasing something or simply working to fulfill a desire.
I have seen this, that people who are in a habit of chasing always, when they get something, immediately the thing loses its significance in their eyes. They continue to walk on the path of chasing the unknown or something which is unavailable yet.
But in all this process, I have seen this thing that people value more to unavailable things, because they can imagine about them according to their own wish.
When things are right under our nose, it’s difficult to enjoy them because with them it’s difficult to go with our imagination. Then it becomes impossible to accept the reality or simply something which is available in the present.
Online relationships, online friendships, in my personal experience, are just like this.
People enjoy a LOT talking to a stranger or an unknown person, knowing that they will not be judged, but in that unknown interaction, they portray the other person according to their own desire…
And when they meet offline, the reality seems distorted from their imagination. Both of them find each other expecting something in return from each other, which they have imagined before knowing them closely. Most of the times, clashing of Ego occurs too.
Everyone is unique and special individual. But what we want to see in other, makes us so attached to our imagination, that real life interactions don’t work
In my personal life and many of my friends have experienced failed relationships and friendships. Specially in this growing age of social media and dating apps. I agree that some very warm friendships also come as a result sometimes and I have read about some good examples of Long Distance Relationships too with some applaudable work in the field of knowledge and education too.
Off course, what can be more enjoying than knowing and connecting people and their knowledge globally in this AI era ?
But is the acceptance towards reality vanishing somewhere ? Is this imagination growing by leaps and bounds of a totally fictional world upon a fragile ground of fantasy ? Are we becoming ignorant towards what we have and getting focused towards what we don’t have ? Just to continue this race of chasing the inaccessible and pleasures of imagination ?
A philosopher once said, “EXCEPT YOUR SILENCE, EVERYTHING ELSE IS YOUR IMAGINATION.”
Obviously everything outside can be achieved by Law of Attraction and other manifestation techniques. But aren’t we entering into something very abstract or imaginative ? Where will this lead us to ? I am curious to know

For sure

But it gets trickier to know what’s definite the farther back you go

So much lost civilizations and technology…

One day we’ll know the truth

I think so, idk, is it because our brains are wired that way or is society conditioning us to be that way?
Cconsumerism, always want new, exciting, always want more, it’s an addiction and a bondage; also, consumerism could be viewed as a product of human desire.

I went a little bit offtopic, you made good points.
