Some say John the Apostle is still alive. I doubt it. But it is more or less “lore” that some believe. Because of some obscure thing Jesus said that could be taken to mean John wouldn’t die until the return of Jesus, but he didn’t really say that. They think he hinted at it.
So there’s rumors still of people saying they’ve met him out in a cave or wherever.

I tend to doubt anything like that. But who knows. It would be funny if there were some old saint in a cave somewhere who keeps praying us out of nuclear armageddon or apocalypse until one day when they just quit praying and everything goes bad.

It’s not just prizes… it’s literally everything; the harmony of Heaven and Earth. Not something where you can grasp large chunks of it and feel satiated. It changes everything in a person’s life. --which is why it is a Path and not a bunch of special effects.
But that’s probably me being overly puritanical and dour lol

If you could have the one thing that would make you happiest in this life but not a spiritual goal, like a relationship or wealth etc, but having it means you are eternally 90% as spiritual as you would have been without it. Would you choose to have it in this lifetime. Or would you go without it even if it makes this life 100 times harder?

I may have already made that choice… I’ve basically avoided romantic relationships because I don’t know of anyone who would accept the way I’d need to live in order to complete the alchemical path lol.
I don’t even know what I’d do in a life like that… I think I’d prefer the ideal to the real thing lol
