300 years old sounds pretty young lol … I hear the worst ones are either from the times of Babylon or from The Fall lol

I dunno… I’ve studied exorcism, but never had circumstances to use anything outside of the preventative stuff…

In the lore, demons can’t always be kicked out on a specific timeline; they’re there as long as God permits. But, when their time is up, then they’re gone. In most situations, the rite of exorcism does more to torture and restrain a demon rather than directly remove it. But it does do a pretty good job of scaring away the weaker things.

Sometimes the vibe around Exorcist manuals is enough to scare things off… :man_shrugging:

yes yes I heard that too. Didn’t know it was true though.

Why they fear the exorcism though? I mean isn’t there a thing that removes them permamently?

Yeah, why

In the lore, they have rejected the light and truth and goodness of God. Exorcism carries that light, it burns into them the acute awareness of everything good that they will never have because they have chosen to hate God and have no deference to God.

Christian lore that can be found in Exorcist manuals and teaching materials.

It’s one of the most dynamic elements of Christian theology, so I’ve looked into it lol.

Most of the answers are mired in the legalism of how people can say things without contradicting established theology — so I don’t know the full extent of what’s true.

A common answer is that they could return to the light, but their fully corrupted nature has warped their will and prevents them from doing so. So they’ll continue doing what they do, but they’re on a short leash because God only tolerates so much. They’;ll presumably be destroyed during the times of the final judgment.

Usually the thing that keeps them away is living a Holy life and liking things that they hate. They might lash out at you from time to time, but they’d have a tough time getting a foothold.

Oh so that’s why pastors say stuff to go to light and putting our burdens to Jesus. (it doens’t makes more sense because I can not translate the words so much)

shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

I better be careful then because God aint gonna tolarate me for that much.

Depends on your theology lol.

They are, but the final judgment is a special time. If God can give anything, He can take it away. and Everything is God’s creation lol

The exact term was “everlasting death”–suggesting destruction, but people usually have drawn that out into unending punishment and humiliation. Who knows what would actually happen?
