Rind, The Lady of Ice

Rind, the daughter of the much-traveled giant Billing, Master of the Vanir Trade, is very much a throwback to her frost-giant bloodlines. While her father has become accustomed to the shore and the ocean, she prefers to live in his winter hall in the snowy northeastern mountain range of Jotunheim. Rind is a potent sorceress, cold and reserved; she works with weather and snow and frost, but her particular talent is the ability (like that of Unn the Undine) to move through time in limited ways.

Rind aids women who have been raped or abused, or who need to break away from batterers. Her followers will often give small stone hearts to women in these situations who need to do what is right. However, she is a frost-giantess, and as such she is not a loving, indulgent mother. While she will give protection from, and work for justice for, women in these situations, she has no patience with those who continue to be weak even when given the chance to be strong. She also has no patience for those who take pleasure or comfort from their victimhood, or who bear false charges. It is best only to call upon her aid with clear vision about what has happened, and whether the individual in question is fully ready to work on becoming stronger and more self-sufficient.

Rind is also a powerful sorceress, and her area is the study of Time - how it moves, how to stop a moment and then roll it onward again. It is how she was able to bear her son in a day - that “day” may have been twenty years long, but she was able to step out of time. While she does not teach these gifts to everyone, or even most people, she can give advice on how to find one’s way through time, if this is something that is necessary to one’s work.

Please enjoy this connection, hope it can be helpful, for women specially
