@Maoshan_Wanderer In this version from Amirtananda lists garima shidhe but there is no location given, do you mean to completely skip garima even from reciting? Also does this stotra need initiation?

Amrtitananda learned it wrong. In fact, I told him and explained to him the details. He was not aware of the details. This is unfortunately the issue with “Gurus” not being classically trained.

Let me elaborate.
A Yantra, or Mandala needs to be first energized.
- Prana Pratishtha - infusing prana with certain mantras
- Energize the Yantra by recitation of the mantra associated with the deity of the Yantra
There is some amount of inherent energy even in non-energized Yantras due to its geometry, but this may be insufficient to bring about major changes depending on the density of consciousness and karmic structures of the practitioner.
The three go hand in hand:
- Mantra - the sound form of the deity
- Yantra - the light form of the deity
- Tantra - methodology which ties mantra and yantra together to effect internal and external alchemy
For a yantra to be effective, it is best to energize it from someone who has perfected the associated mantra and is connected to the deity. The Yantra is an extension of the mantra, deity and the practitioner and the goal of tantra is unitary consciousness between - mantra - yantra - deity - practitioner - lineage. Thus, the power of yantra is dependent on one’s own power.
Sri Yantra is the king of yantras as every other yantra can be derived from it. It represents Tripurasundari, the closest to non-dual consciousness in a form, and the source of every other deity. For attracting soul mate etc., usually the main deity is not needed. An attendant of the attendant of the attendant is sufficient.
In the high Tantra of Sri Chakra, we have only one prayer - yathecchasi tatha kuru - Mother, you know what is best for all, including me, thy Will be done! There is no need to ask for this or that as that represents a lower state of consciousness. In this path, you just align with the Universal Consciousness and nothing more needs to be done!
Also, while Sri Chakra can be used for mundane desires, its primary purpose is to unravel maya and attain enlightenment. Commercial interests market this yantra for money, prosperity etc., none of which are really true objectives of Sri chakra.
