Ah, ok, got it. (I wanted to get myself on the same page that you were on, thank you.)
We all need different kinds of support, at different times in our lives, for different subjects of our lives. These fields differ in how they go about providing their support. And this is key here because âsupportâ is a product of our experience of the support weâre given. For example, if youâve ever unburdened your troubles to a friend, who (helpfully) almost immediately launches into suggestions of practical solutions you could do for this trouble and that, you might not feel âsupportedâ because you were wanting your friend to simply listen, you know what I mean?
Do you need aspects of your childhood revised? (And itâs all right if you do.) Do you need/want your perception of events or experiences of that time adjusted? Then, ARoC could be the one for you.
Or maybe youâre feeling a little isolated and alone in the world (and that, too, is all right) at this moment. Maybe youâve forgotten (or been unaware of) many of the ways youâve been appreciated and cared for throughout your life. Then, you might prefer IPoP.
If you answer âI want both,â then I personally would do my healing first (ARoC). When my ARoC has done its work, then Iâd move on to IPoP, especially when itâs getting a few too many things at once. And I would use AoPL after my ARoC has done its work. (Using AoPL at the same time as ARoC, to me, is rather like trying to redecorate and repaint a room before youâve cleared out all the old crap. Itâs much easier to clear out all the old crap first.)
Hope that helps.
