Now as we all know, most of the world do NOT know about the subconscious mind. Since that IS the case, most people believe in ridiculous superstitions and such. ESPECIALLY in countries like India and China. What does that do? It is literally creating subconscious self-sabotage. The sad part is, people are not realizing that they are sabotaging themselves by doing this either. So please. Take a good look at yourselves to see if we have any of these ridiculous beliefs or not. Come to think of it, I need to take a good look at myself to see if I have any of these beliefs or not. I know I had these beliefs back when I was a kid. I had a belief that if one would not dry their hair after showering, they would catch a cold…
This self-sabotage is worse than someone punching you in the face…
And no. This is not me trying to attack anyone however, my main goal is to bring awareness to how deadly self-sabotage is. If anyone says otherwise, name me one time self-sabotage for YOURSELF has had a positive impact on you? (Not talking about putting your hand in fire or whatever)
My acupuncture teacher yelled at me for having wet hair one day in school and 13 years later I never not dried my hair after showering. Some of these things have some merit to them though, all of my clients that come in often with damp hair always have a chronically stuffed nose and headache. Or perhaps that is just my beliefs showing up in the world.
One additional event does not confirm a belief, especially when you do not control for other variables. It is possible someone catches a cold for a whole host of reasons, or just luck.
Not catching a cold does not disprove the theory either. Even if you repeat the “experiment” numerous times, that does not add substantially to the “proof”. Rare events are “impossible” until they’re not. Furthermore, in medicine it is rarely seen that “X causes Y”, and much more often seen that, “X increases risk of Y”.
Your picture is incredibly ironic, since you seem to be allowing supposed knowledge (how you believe science works) to make you arrogant and instead has led to ignorance.
That’s great it’s one of my favs too, I have Magical Mystery Tour on Vinyl. My mom bought me Sgt Peppers on Vinyl last Christmas too. I cant get enough of em lol
I have witnessed ridiculous superstitions guide certain people quite well in life.
Everybody is entitled to their own way of navigating the world.
One humble suggestion;
Like the Walrus, cities are alive too. When you visit a certain town, their “ridiculous superstitions” are the reality. Like the Alchemist says; Tradition is always right.
