I was an Obama Democrat so to speakā€¦ and generally socially liberal, but I am more of a centrist and over racialization of everything, attacks on freedom of speech, jump to socialism etc. are making the current DNC unpalatable for me. I am an ā€œissue-basedā€ voter - jobs, economy, national security etc. matter to me. I am no fan of Trump but to hate him meaninglessly and obsessively is just nonsense, when he was leading yesterday, some folks on TV looked like they would cry! This is NOT sane! I was looking at NY Times and CNN the other day - every line item is an Anti Trump story - which is kinda ridiculous, especially because these news orgs claim to be non-partisan sources of journalism.

Haha, Josh here seems like an issue-based voter like me!

Maybe the democrat voters are not commenting :)

To be honest, as a european, us politics is something to study rather than participate in.

I have been living in one of the richest countries for the past few years. There are a lot of things I appreciate and am extremely grateful for each day.
Things like worker rights - i have 20+ paid vacation days, I can call in sick, get fully paid and it doesnā€™t count as a day offā€¦
great public education, healthcare (though in this particular country parts of it are privatised, it is not possible for someone to not be insured), social security on a scale that Iā€™m not even going to write down because it will sound like a socialist utopia to some, lol.
This would automatically put me on the left on the US scale - Yet for us here these arenā€™t even issues that in any way shape your political stance.

Something similar regarding religion. I am from a conservative eastern European country, where Christianity is sometimes used as a political rhetorical tool. Yet I would not even dream of hearing some of the religious arguments coming from the US. ā€œGod hatesā€¦ā€ - I donā€™t think I have even heard these 2 words together in my native language.

Everything is just on such a different scale that it is hard to identify with anything. Probably EU political debates make equally little sense to Americans

Lastly - I am only trying to give a perspective, not hating or anything. :)

Yeah sure the foreign policy aspect is important, I rather meant that as an outsider I donā€™t have the same perspective.

I donā€™t know why people want trump to win so much, honestly, this guy sang victory ahead of time, something ridiculous, says that if he doesnā€™t win the votes are rigged, of course, because it doesnā€™t benefit him, wake up.

Lots of people in Arizona complaining that their votes are not being counted.

You mean like how Hillary and her supporters said the 2016 election was perfectly fine, and blasted Trump for casting doubt on things ahead of time, until it turned out she lost, then it had to be some kind of interference!

Wake up indeed.

And now heā€™s doing the same thing, theyā€™re both wrong, I wonā€™t say Biden will be a great president, but heā€™ll definitely be better than a man who makes fun of the disabled

Iā€™ll help you out because I do realize some people are literally brainwashed and canā€™t help themselves.

To clarify: Trump did it multiple times for different people. He wasnā€™t mocking a person for their physical disabilities.

As someone said in the comment section:

Well this is not showing him mocking anyone lol. Heā€™s just expressing how the incompetent people that canā€™t do their jobs act

The reverse would also be acceptable to many I thinkā€¦ all the American conservatives to Europe and left-wing Europeans to America.

I think Bidenā€™s got this in the bag boys

I wouldnā€™t mind a liberal-thinking leader, provided they were honest. Itā€™s the corruption thatā€™s the problem. What Iā€™m not okay with is ā€œAmerica for saleā€ politicians.

I probably am not as up on politics and governments, especially internationally, as you, but I would think that institutions only survive so long as there are people that maintain them.

Presuming that Americans and Europeans of similar ideology can co-exist, then I would think that in relatively short order (perhaps a handful of years of adjustment) unwanted institutions and laws could be done away with, and desired ones put in their place.
