What TV shows are youwatching?

Hi, Amber3. Sorry didn’t see your recommendation until now. I have seen only a few minutes of Shetland but it’s on my list. Thanks!

Just finished Children of the Sea
Mind-boggling. But yet makes some sense. Great animation though. Reminded me of Avatar like you said…

Finished this just now. Twas cute. Refreshing if you’re accustomed to the fantasy romance anime movies xD

But otherwise these are my two top anime romances:

Loved the first one too! I presume you have already seen A Silent Voice?

Yeah. One of the best anime movies ^^

It has a great, realistic character development and story telling. And a great ending :ok_hand:

At first I thought it was like a crappy “anti-bullying” gov-funded ad xD. Like the japanese gov hired these people to make a movie about bullying…but man does it improve.

Those two “favourite romances” and A Silent Voice are movies I’d rewatch…and I can’t say that about many.

Lmao that never crossed my mind  It’s definitely one of those that stick with you, another one I’m thinking of rn is I Want to Eat Your Pancreas!!

Yes, same, I pretty much never rewatch movies or TV-shows I loved as it just ruins the initial magic for me haha

The recent documentation on psychedelics on Netflix is just beautiful.

It really shows the need for legalization and the benefit of them, especially for people with PTSD anxiety and depression.

It’s kind of heartbreaking to watch the documentary for me, because I realize how many people are needlessly suffering…but I feel like the tide is turning! :slightly_smiling_face:10 years ago a documentary like that wouldnt have been made .

Judge Dredd TV show!!?

6.4/10 ratings.

I give it 7.

Cried many times. Is beautiful. Cool characters and world-building.

Looks like an eco-movie but that depends on how you look at it. But it is about nature and man struggle, so if you aren’t into that…it isn’t Mononoke Princess either, but is a good movie.

Nice soundtrack too.

Will keep an eye on this director.

I dunno how I forgot this one. A masterpiece.

I just found this show by mistake today and was about to post about it. I see that @Maoshan_Wanderer wrote about it in Aug! Again, a bit late to the game. :relaxed:

First impressions… It’s a fantastical story! There are parts that were scary /creepy so I was happy that I was watching during the day. :joy:

The main character’s name is DREAM!! @Dreamweaver Have you seen this series? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Then there are other characters that I only learned about from this forum… like The Fates ( reminded me of the Norns, @UgniS ) and protection amulets. I’ve been binge-watching it today and am on Ep 6. There were some great dialogues in these series that have really pulled me in… example like the battle between Lucifer and Dream!

An adaptation from a popular highly credited PlayStation game. I played the game multiple times in the past so I know the story is going to be good anyway. It’s basically about a zombie apocalypse but this time is caused by a fungus pandemic and not a virus or bio weapon.

Insane, illegal, criminally good. This movie is playing with my mind more than Schrödinger’s cat.

It is so good man… I just watched the second episode last night. The first episode was very engaging though that kinda felt like you were watching a ‘disaster movie’ such as War of the Worlds, 2012 or Dante’s Peak etc. It’s the same storyline as the PS game but there’s a lot of backstory to it and expands more on narrative details that were shortened down or dismissed in the game version.

As usual in most TV shows and movies these days, there’s still all that diversity shit involved since the game originally was predominantly a Caucasian cast. The main characters Joel and Tommy (two brothers) are not Hispanic and Joel’s daughter weren’t Multiracial either since the adaptation says they should be White American. I’m not saying it’s major deal but if it’s an adaptation it should be as accurate as possible. Imagine if Star Wars fans watched the new Kenobi series and some Indian or Chinese guy was casted to be Obi-Wan Kenobi instead of Ewan McGregor, i think a lot of people would be pissed off. Nothing wrong with having a White cast if it’s accurate… it’s not racist

The backstory really does emphasise the situation of the fungus pandemic in a disturbing way especially, which they didn’t really narrate in the game as that was more focused on the survival, investment of characters and apocalyptic aftermath aspects. It also mentions how deadly/devastating plagues like viruses and prions as such can be successfully conquered/cured eventually with the current science, research and technology they have. Although a life threatening aggressive fungus strain cant since there’s no medicine or cure to a fungus outbreak. The only solution would be to drop a large bomb on the target population infected area whether a city, region or country… depending on how far it’s spread.

I’m hoping in the future they’ll do a Walking Dead adaptation spin off based on Lee and Clementines story from the Telltale game series. It’s a lot better experience than the Last of Us and it even achieved game of year award back in 2012 for great storytelling.

So I loved Sandman on Netflix. Recently, they seem to have added another episode that was animated, and something about cats. I just did not get what this was all about lol
