Latin sesquipedalis, literally, a foot and a half long
In the 17th century, English literary critics decided the word sesquipedalian could be very useful for lambasting writers using unnecessarily long words.
Some one probably used it in both an English and German way in German and English
On the same day even as some one else at the same second sitting down and drinking coffee
Or not
Lol
To define a “A careful ruthless person” ← in German or English
Well y’know, in Spain we use it to apply it to other people. As in, if someone complains about something, you tell them they are too scrupulous.
And eventually, it got connected with cleanliness or being too delicate or picky. You’d for example tell someone they are too scrupulous if they don’t want to use their hands for eating (something that’s supposed to be eaten with hands).
So it is a mildly pejorative term. And now we use both, scrupulous and unscrupulous, as insults lol
Hegemony is the dominance or control of one group, state, or entity over others, and can be expressed through political, economic, or military power. It also refers to a subtler form of cultural or ideological dominance, where a dominant group’s ideas and beliefs become widely accepted as common sense, often through consent rather than coercion. Key examples include the political leadership of ancient Greek city-states, the military and economic power of a nation like Nazi Germany or the United States, and the influence of dominant cultural norms.
My first ever recorded rap song was called Hegemony
I was either 14 or 15
I am 26 now
“Witness the power, the strength, the fame… That made us Hegemonic…”
Is how it all started…
I’ve thought of calling myself he-g-money
But I don’t like it lol
Just know it can work for some one
But with enough funk jazz soul or etc behind it it’s good
The fire and the blues
Gotta say it with some bass
Confidence
Like they gonna wanna know every last thing about you
And that you run what you doing for extra brownie points
From the heart
Ah it’s more than this lol I just keep writing
