I guess we have to filter even the belief systems of those online apps that give us definitions

Why do we have to filter the belief systems of online apps that give us definitions?

Btw it was Google that gave me the definitions

This is interesting because in German “skrupellos” means Machiavellian or ruthless. So that would be the opposite meaning.

Some one probably used it in both an English and German way in German and English

Yeah.

So ‘skrupellos’ is actually unscrupulous.

And scrupulous would be sth like ‘gewissenhaft’

Well y’know, in Spain we use it to apply it to other people. As in, if someone complains about something, you tell them they are too scrupulous.

And eventually, it got connected with cleanliness or being too delicate or picky. You’d for example tell someone they are too scrupulous if they don’t want to use their hands for eating (something that’s supposed to be eaten with hands).

So it is a mildly pejorative term. And now we use both, scrupulous and unscrupulous, as insults lol

Hegemony

Hegemony is the dominance or control of one group, state, or entity over others, and can be expressed through political, economic, or military power. It also refers to a subtler form of cultural or ideological dominance, where a dominant group’s ideas and beliefs become widely accepted as common sense, often through consent rather than coercion. Key examples include the political leadership of ancient Greek city-states, the military and economic power of a nation like Nazi Germany or the United States, and the influence of dominant cultural norms.

My first ever recorded rap song was called Hegemony
I was either 14 or 15
I am 26 now

“Witness the power, the strength, the fame… That made us Hegemonic…”

Is how it all started…

I’ve thought of calling myself he-g-money
