Nah, it does actually have bad memory. One of the biggest hurdles all these AIs currently have is memory. If you have been talking to it in the same chatbox, it can scan from that chatbox. If you have different chatboxes, it will take the sumary of those chatboxes from the name of each one (you know how each one has a name) and then use those to create a full on summary of all youā€™ve talked about with it. GPT4 definitely has great context memory though and can remember for longer periods of time.

It definitely doesnā€™t have that level of memory yet. Iā€™m very eager for them to solve this hurdle.

Well, however it works, it works. If it can recreate it or take short cuts, fine by me

It does give precise enough title to the chats though, I can see how it might be like you said. Would be a simple but effective hack

Iā€™ll check if it matches the title that closely

Well, the reason I know about that is because some people used to think that when you post a link, it can go into that link and summarize the web page. But what it would do, is look at the link which often has a summary within the link ā€˜msnbc.com/person-died-eating-19-hot-dogsā€™ and then it would make an entire summary using the link. Itā€™s clever lol

what do you think about this? elon musk and others of the tech elite want to stop or pause the advancement and development of ai for a while due to the supposed danger to humanity.

Is there a real risk to humanity or is it a risk to the status quo? Do these people really care about humanity? This reminds me of when Musk out of the blue turned against bitcoin and the market crashed in 2021. A bit susā€¦

I dunno. Just about all rich tech people are shady where they put up one face for the public and have another in private.

It sounds like he has taken significant personal and financial losses for the sake of a more human-centered future, though. Actions speak louder than words, and (though he isnā€™t perfect), I appreciate a number of the changes heā€™s helped to make.

But AI is definitely a danger. We could say that itā€™s neutral because itā€™s just a technologyā€¦ in the same way we could say nuclear technology is neutral because it is technologyā€¦

The fact of the matter is that most of the people invested in it are invested for personal and selfish reasonsā€”reasons which donā€™t align with the general wellbeing of humans.

I think a pause would be good. A full stop, even better.

Humanity is set apart from most other species because of itā€™s creativity and intellectual capacity. AI, by design, is meant to simulate that. By itā€™s most basic composition, it is something that is made to replace humans. I donā€™t think we should move forward with it until we have a very clear legislative framework for ensuring that it is not applied detrimentally.

what we have access to GPT4, is at least 10 generations behind of what the governments, armies have available, or Top 500 Forbes companies so i donā€™t think this is the purpose of stopping the development

They want to ā€œstop itā€ because they missed the opportunity and are now lagging behind, lol. These people care only about their businesses and their positions of influence.

I would not take someone (Musk) serious who has been already divorced three timesā€¦

@JAAJ ā€™s been spamming conceptual realization everyday for years now lol

If Elon Musk says anything in a context with no legal obligation to be truthfulā€¦ Iā€™m out

If Elon Musk wrote ā€œThe CEOā€, Machiavelli would call him immoral

There were many pauses with nuclear weaponsā€”while the tech kept leaping forward. And while this AI tech is dominated by corporations, the basic tools are already out there for anyone. The people arguing for the pause know this, so maybe the AI pause movement mostly wants to establish a right to speak later when the headlong AI rush starts producing some negative consequences.

IMO heā€™s paranoic and sesationalist.

He had been talking about the dangers of AI while heā€™s the one building the AI in the first place. Dude is a walking paradox.

I would imagine AI taking over Coding professionnals, sooner

sure AI is capable of replacing too many jobs iā€™ll would say over 60% but this will be killing purchasing power. more poverty, less purchasing power i donā€™t think it will be helping the economy.
if 60% percent of jobs are replacable then who will be able to buy goods from companies that uses AI to produce.

ā€œSince I wasnā€™t the one ahead of the game, I proposed we postpone the advancement of AI until we secretly make our AI become more advanced than the AIsā€ all of these so called leaders are clowns as always.
