Can we replace our plants need for sunlight with this?

Thank you Captain.

It says plant growth in the description so I am also very curious to know this too!

I’ve been looking to buy more lights for my succulents (I tried sungazing just for fun without noticeable effects) and had thought how wonderful it would be to have a field for that :joy:

Does it also include UV light (which is part of the sunlight and produces vitamin D)?

I just bought it and will play for my succulents. They have some light at the moment but clearly not enough so it should be easy to notice.

I’ll report back, for science!

Just in case someone else is also trying this for plants which have grow lights: initially I thought I’d play the field for as long as I usually leave the grow lights on. But then I remembered this from the description: “This is meant to be full spectrum wavelengths closer to the natural sources.”

Grow lights usually have to be kept on longer than plants that get sunlight in nature because they are weaker. So instead I checked how much the plants need light in a natural setting and settled for that. This is exciting hihihi

Two question:

  1. Am I right in assuming that this is an environmental field and as such can be played as needed (won’t overwhelm)?

  2. What approximate range does this field have? I have plants that require low light and I wouldn’t want to disturb those lovely ladies. At first I thought maybe if I put the volume low enough that the sound is out of range from the other plants (but then again, what is out of range for me may not be out of range for them!) but I remember reading that Plasma Flower’s range is still effective at super low volume

Any clarification much appreciated

This before photosynthesis field and the super human mutant, what could happen? :face_with_monocle:

The most logical would be green super mutant emitting sunlight as a super power :joy:

Jesting aside, now I must test this hahaha

Oh wow, this is CRAZY! The succulents’ bottom leaves were a bit slumped downwards (what they do when they don’t have enough light) and they have already started perking up! Now I kick myself for not taking pictures on the first day, I didn’t expect changes that quick!

Just took some, will post before and after pictures in a few weeks < swoon! >

Added bonus: I have a bit more energy. Which makes sense, it’s the coldest winter in 20 years here so I haven’t gone out for my walks regularly. < double swoon! >

I have been running this field in my dining room about 10-12h per day for almost a week now and am exposed maybe 2-3h. My impression based on how I feel and the effects it has had on my plants so far:

I would tend to say that it emulates a soft full spectrum light, as such it would have a light effect on things that the sun may usually provide (like vitamin D, endorphins, serotonin, etc) without the harmful effects of being exposed for sustained periods. Even on the one day I have left the field for almost 16-18h, I have not noticed any stress effects on my succulents that the sun or stronger lamps can have (hence why I’d tend to say that it’s soft).

I cannot comment on tanning however, I have very very low melanin and don’t tan (I am the type that goes from pink to burned in a heartbeat hahah) but have not noticed any effect on my epidermis. About sungazing, I can’t tell for sure but its intent being to emulate the specific conditions under which it is done I’d have a tendency to stick with it for that purpose but maybe someone with more experience with it can comment.

All I have felt so far from playing it is slightly increased energy, but exposure to the sun doesn’t seem to have much of an effect on my mood so I may not be the best person to comment on that.

I hope that helps!
