Pancha mukhi Hanuman Homam

Ouch!

I didn’t know that.

Thank You.

I’ll stick with Captain’s fields, first of all, but then I’ll also chant that Shiva Mantra too.

OK. I think I’ll do that. TY.

All good @Maoshan_Wanderer it’s great to have someone who can explain and direct us in the vast sea of all offerings on the Internet.

I’m just happy that possible Shani Pooja will be made !!

Safe mantras:

  • oṃ namaḥ śivāya (Shiva)
  • oṃ namō bhagavatē vāsudēvāya (Vishnu)
  • harē kr̥ṣṇa harē kr̥ṣṇa kr̥ṣṇa kr̥ṣṇa harē harē | harē rāma harē rāma rāma rāma harē harē (Krishna)
  • gaṁ gaṇapatayē namaḥ (Ganesha)
  • śrīmātrē namaḥ (Supreme Goddess)
  • śrīrāma jaya rāma jaya jaya rāma (Rama)

Gayatri and Mrityunjaya usually require an attunement/initiation as their form depends on your lineage but if one learns the right pronunciation, I see no harm in reciting them. Worse case, the mantra may not be awakened, but it will not cause any harm.

Sorry, just one more question…
Kali Mantras I assume are more for the Tantric practitioners?
Thus not really recommended for one who isn’t really a devotee or a tantric?

Edit: Wow, I’m learning so much from You, Many thanks, Maoshan.

Yes, Kali is one of the central Tantric deities and of severe energy. Usually, not even all Hindus approach Kali, other than in some parts of India, even her photograph is not always recommended in households as she can cause upheaval; Usually gentler deities like Lakshmi, Durga, Saraswati are recommended for most people.

But she has been known to approach devotees and instill devotion, so yes, if she really calls out to you, then she also takes care of mitigating the torrents’ she herself causes haha

I’m really pushing it :joy::pray::

Can we also chant the safe mantras in our mind as well?
I mean, it would be odd to do it vocally when I’m surrounded by people or in public or even with just one person near me.

Edit: Thank You.

And I’m done with the questions lol.

Absolutely.

Mental recitation is the best form of recitation as long as you don’t lose focus. It can achieve both shamata (focus/concentration/tranquility) and vipashyana (insight/awareness).

My Guru told me: recite your mantra in the mind as long as you’re alive, without stopping ever! When your breath atains cessation once your cultivation is apt, your mantra will become automatic and then the deity will illuminate your consciousness.

If person has a shrine in the room can this somehow influence person in a bad way .
@Maoshan_Wanderer I want to send you photo of shrine but don’t want to share public .

Maybe you could read energy , lately im thinking maybe is this shrine in the room ?

Because wen I’m outside of the house I’m ok .

If the other person is respectful and the deities in the shrines are not severe ones, it should be ok. It cannot be determined by pictures as how person A reacts to something vs person B reacts, are totally different. The very same shrine can have vastly different impact on two different people.

You need to monitor for signs: are there unnecessary arguments, have you experienced ill-health or misfortune, have there been mood swings, etc. Usually, if there is bad effect, some of these signs occur in a week or two! If not, you’re good!

This could be a reason! Energy is not good or bad, in this case, it may just be that you’re not agreeing with it.

Usually, folks get divination done (my tradition relies on ashtamangala prashna) to get a reading about the possible causes
Two, move the shrine away from one’s living area and see if things help
Always pick one central deity and establish a strong connection - once you get that, the deity will protect you from all these effects.

I am not making this up. I was in surgery a few weeks ago and could see the Goddess staring down at me. I slipped back to sleep. My GF visited me in the recovery room, and said, “bonkers, when I walked in now, I smell the same sandal paste fragrance I get sometimes at home. How is it possible? Even the nurse said this smell kept coming in the surgery room!” Lol it was a spectacle with multiple folks asking me questions and also a tad embarrassing haha Surrendering to the Divine, whatever form you resonate with, is a sure way to mitigate a lot of problems. Keeps ego in check and you go with divine will without causing friction with natural laws.

How can I get ashtamangala prashna divination ?.

Hmmm… I am not exactly sure! Last time I got this done was for a local temple who consulted me for some issues in Pittsburg. We had some experts flown in from a place called Guruvayur in Kerala.

Some online sites offer it as well, but not sure how good they are… Most of the experts are in the state of Kerala.

It’s Tara goddess statue with tibetan hand made wooden shrine

A statue by itself is just wood

  • who consecrated it?
  • is there life force in it?
  • Is the deity happy in her surroundings?
  • Was the statue being used by someone else?
  • Has it absorbed energies from previous surroundings/rituals? etc.

No easy answers except for trial and error and a good divination. Hence, in olden days, idols were always given through ancestors, or by the Guru so that is energetic ancestry/history was known

My teacher’s grand teacher said: Durga, when worshipped mentally, is pure bliss-awareness. You make a giant idol of her, bring her to a physical plane, then a lot of rules come - you need to treat the idol like a real deity, follow rituals, appease her attendant deities etc. So, before you get an idol, consider all the implications, especially if the idol is bigger than what can be fully concealed in one’s palm.

Since this came out when I stare at pics of Hanuman I feel a blissful feeling in my heart chakra (not intense but a nice feeling) and I feel peace come over me what does this mean exactly?

Should I start reciting the Hanuman chalisla and is there any mantra for Hanuman or even Ram that would help build a stronger connection because I’m guessing the above is a sign to build a relationship with Hanuman?

Also I’m an athlete and I saw that body builders like Hanuman would that have any relation here?

Any guidance and advice would be appreciated here very much :slightly_smiling_face:

Could be anything - a connection, or just a relaxation response :) If you recite cola, cola, cola, even that has some relaxing alpha-wave effect :) You need to focus more on this feeling and see if it becomes reproducible and sustained in which case, it could mean something. I usually ignore “feelings” for the most part as the mind can be a trickster and grants experiences that we subconsciously crave! More craving usually means more loss of energy which should be avoided!

I listed one Rama mantra above which is called Rama Taraka. Hanuman Chalisa is very effective.

Yes, celibacy and strength are two characteristics of Hanuman which are of interest to wrestlers, etc. Hanuman is supposed to possess and grant Vajrakaya, impenetrable body. Also to note, he is immortal and one of the few deities physically present on earth in current day and age.
