Dunnoā€¦ It has more to do with the phone companies that the network carriers contracted with. They need specific antennas to work with the modern frequency ranges. For some reasons, none of the companies that make phones to work on the new frequencies have used the slider model. Theyā€™ve just used the flip model. :man_shrugging:

Technically, you could buy parts and make your own primitive cell phone. Youā€™d just need a portion to match the item numbers that the cell companies use so the network would recognize it.
