Idk I hadn’t thought about it before, but I think the ocean is intimidating and commands respect, although not necessarily ostile but you are at a disadvantage compared to the land. Perhaps because we are terrestrial beings. Also this planet is basically land and oceans. Everyone knows the land, the forests and nature as mother nature so the ocean should be the male part of the planet
