Ah I understand your point. What I wrote was something simple but I liked the idea, maybe something deeper can be developed in the future.
In my story the AI has the power to control its world but not the creator’s, so the problems that everyone fears will not be something to worry about

Certain deities are created by egregores/collective belief, that does not make them any less real or powerful. But is his intelligence real or artificial? Is it our same intelligence but collective?

What if there are other things that watch you, what if in the larger food chain, earth is like somebody’s garden. or back yard project.
or better yet, its a world inside a glass aquarium like an ant farm, where beings come by and watch.
Sprinkle a little hope on one side, a little anger else where. watch them have little wars.
recycle the energy, repurpose it, maybe even consume it.
But of course man can only see the world around him, so in his small world he is the pinnacle of creation, inside the aquarium of course. A glass king and queen.
Now imagine a room with thousands of those aquariums.
Gain perspective of the worlds outside of the games people play here.

In the end, the most useful project would be one that produces something to consume.
For me, a lifeform that surpasses its creators is interesting too, but people would be afraid of it.
But then…in the spirit of controlling everything, I wouldn’t sprinkle anger here and there xD
Our zoos are more benevolent, we don’t make animals fight with each other. In some places they are well treated. In others, used for experiments. And in others, not so well treated cause some genius thought of creating a zoo solely for making money…
There is an episode in the Orville where some human? or some member of the crew were put into a zoo for other aliens.
Now, I wonder if Dream means other aliens as creating the ecosystem, or they are behind the glass too.

I have always liked that principle, we can also use our body as an example, imagine that we are a cell inside the body doing our cell things, for the benefit of the physical body, for the cell that body is its universe as for us this universe is a physical body for the cell, and we all collaborate in one way or another in the existence and experience of it. In the same way, this principle continues, as there are many bodies with their own universe inside, there must be many universes like ours out there, like ours with its little humans and other living beings inside. As above, so below, and as inside, so outside.

I started this show…without having watched the trailer. The plot (at least where I read it) didn’t tell much.
I have no idea where I got the impression it would be a philosophical symbolic slow sci-fi show. Something to reflect and without much happenings.
I was so wrong…and because of that expectation it has me shook and I’m halfway through the third episode only.

yep and the simple way of talking about topics that are not simple at all lol there are some very real dangers when it comes to invocations and evocations.
Do you remember the guy who summoned the dragon golem servitor into his body? In the manual it says that you must put the local spirits in some object otherwise they will lodge in your body which is not good.

Evocations and invocations are wild.
He also creates a fake astral body (that does nothing, I’ve read…) but then befriended and even did some symbiosis (according to him) with a fear eater.
So…you still have to gather more knowledge or learn the hard way xD
Thing is…a Sapien Servitor is still fine…probably. We didn’t hear about him anymore xD
But…most of magick taps into egregores too. And those are who goes rogue, probably since they stem from humans.
But I also have this feeling whatever you gain through egregores, comes at a higher price.
Sadly, there isn’t a field for everything so we still must do rituals or practices and connect to the egregores xD
And also…the price is a natural thing. A real angel would simply reject all my attempts. It wouldn’t collaborate with me. But the agregoric forms…sure, as long as you do the ritual right, you’re good.
