I always talk about history and the past and Rome and whatever, but f… my life if I would want for even one day to live in the past lol, nooo thank you, I like modern life, modern tech, fields, endless possibilities and opportunities, a connected world, etc.
Life IS Beautiful in our current age/time (with the exceptions of warzones, extremely poor areas, etc.), almost everywhere nowadays, although it’s better if you are rich lol.
I enjoy some story time though, to know some stuff about the different people of this world, about their traditions, languages, wars, how history shaped their identity and how they evolved over the Aeons.
However, I do understand that it’s only partially true (for various reasons, from history being written by the Victor, to countless works being lost, new discoveries, constantly new data, etc.), yet still useful.
