Man if Crawford gets knocked out, that would be just mind blowing, but I don’t see it impossible

I don’t know who will win, I’m not gonna vote lol

I have no idea lol.

He seems like he might have more experience, but Canelo seems like he might be more scrappy.

I have no idea, though. That’s just my sense from looking at the pictures. I haven’t followed anything.

It’s been a while since I’ve put my awareness on the violence of martial arts, though. So it’s an interesting vibe for me. But guess it’s not out of character for the times we’re in. The planet is one story, humanity is another lol

Canelo has faught professionally since the age of 16
At 16 was beating up grown men

He’s fought legendary men
More world champions than Crawford

Crawfords biggest opponent ever is Canelo
Canelos biggest opponent ever was Mayweather

Crawford is “book smart”
His knowledge of the “sweet science” (what they call boxing) is more textual than instinctual, unlike the likes of Muhammad Ali

Canelo is smart as well, but I feel Crawford is more to the book

He definitely has a scrappy look. Someone definitely at home with the expression of force

He’s got the beating drums of Mexicos fighting pride bumping through his veins at this moment

Mexico is a huge boxing country, unlike USA

Crazy, 2 people already voted Crawford winning

My friend called me about this fight like 30 minutes ago after I posted earlier
He told me he was gonna bet (I never lost a bet against him lol I was literally thinking about this and the boxing bets I had with him in highschool before he called, I ain’t never lost a bet!)

And he told me the Hard Rock Casino betting app he’s got has Crawford winning

Which kinda shocks me

I suppose people see Canelo vs taller men and think “hmmm Bivol pt. 2”

I dunno

I think Crawford should jab like crazy, I think he can outbox Canelo with a safe distance and don’t let his back grace the ropes, keep moving circling and take the center if it’s safe

Whoever got the fastest feet today wins
That’s my opinion
Cuz one will try to cut off the ring
And the other will try to use the ring to his advantage

One day I might get back into martial arts…

I’ve been out of the action for a long while, though. I think I’d get my ass served up back to me on a silver platter if I jumped into anything now lol

It’s interesting, though. A study of the ranges of violence. It’s easy to see things when it’s physical. But even there, there’s a whole gradient of the physical. Direct fighting, styles within fighting (whether more strike based or grappling oriented, standup or ground oriented, etc.), posturing that can lead up to the fight — all manner of expression.

And on the Shaolin side, physical fighting frequently becomes a tool for analyzing the combative tendencies of the mind.

It’s interesting to compare the violence of action with the violence of sentiment. And, after enough development of mind, it becomes clear that sentiment itself is a type of action. People jab with words and they jab with intent. The root remains the same. Sometimes, it seems like an actual punch might be more to the point lol.

Anyways – Random musing. I’d probably get destroyed in direct confrontation these days lol – But, it remains: it is the root that should be addressed inside so that the branches don’t grow.

That’s how it is lol

That’s really interesting

Makes me think of the saying “every ones got a plan till they get punched in the face”

A mental tendency to walk towards fire
Is it done in peace? Anger? Fear?

Being hit in the face, will you think you need to reset your tempo before returning or is your tempo unscathed?

I feel you lol

I remember having this great pride when I was active though, I had this huuuuge ego about it when I was 19
I thought I was the baddest/baddest in the making lol

After the weeks (months… years… )of inactivity it diminishes
And you just accept it

I know I can hang with some MMA boys boxing but boxers boxers? Nah lol

In some months I’ll hang, but I don’t wanna spar no more, so it don’t matter

I think I might be a bit too idealistic. I wouldn’t entrust my life or safety with it, but I like Aikido.

Looks like they where just doing drills

Not actual sparring

I bet if it’s trained with “sparring” and athletic power developing stuff, it can be effective against more athletic and aware people

But if some one is striking and not like grappling or something like that I think it would leave the practitioner peppered in punches and what not

But, hey, I dunno nuttin outside of boxing lol

Seems like they’re counting out the legend

I think probably only Ueshiba could really use his art in full lol.

It was mostly in the energy manipulations. I had some weird experiences similar to it with a Hapkido practitioner. He did some energy things, but it wasn’t the main thing. But he knew enough to leverage loose energy in one of my legs and made me fly a bit lol. It matched some of the same dynamics I see with Ueshiba and some of the forceful moves that seem to have almost nothing behind them.

It doesn’t really work well with aggressors, though. Aggressive energy, as you might expect, becomes toughened towards an opponent and more responsive to the aggressors own mind.

The techniques in Aikido can definitely work. But a lot of the practiced articulations would have a tough time getting the right opportunities for leverage on someone who’s an actual adversary. But, with the sensei’s level of sensitivity, he could use it–I just don’t see anyone else doing it quite the same way lol.

It’s mostly the philosophy behind it that I liked. It seems too easy for things to become purely destructive.

There are a bunch of different ways to develop and use energy combatively. But a lot of best martial things are just the commonsense conditioning and drills.

I guess I’ll see what I can see tomorrow. I don’t have a netflix account, but I might be able to catch highlights somewhere.

One of those was me, lol.

Can’t believe the fight’s here already. I remember us talking about it like five, six months ago.

If you remember, I said I was rooting for Crawford because he’s moving up in weight and I respected that

I remember that! I remember me saying that it’s the reason why I root for him

But he’s taller and has a crazy reach advantage…

Let’s see lol

It’s finally here man!
Pots been cooking long enough…
Tomorrow we feast our eyes on some boxing!.

Be back later @Galactica
Kyle responded to my post so I only got his notification and read his post first, I gotta read what you said still but I gotta run!
