We had a massive storm on Monday night. The power tripped which is pretty normal, 9/10 whenever we have a storm we also experience power cuts. Woke up on Tuesday to discover that several large trees on our property had fallen down and one of them had fallen onto the power cables snapping the line. Not only did all 12 houses on our property have no power, half of our little town was in the same boat as us. Power was finally restored around 2pm this afternoon 30 odd hours later only to then discover that the internet tower that’s on the property was also affected by the storm Had to beg and plead for a technician to come out and assist us. By 6pm they still hadn’t figured out what was wrong and had to leave to get back to the office before the curfew started. Was very lucky to have a dedicated technician who carried on working from their office and finally managed to connect our internet about three hours ago.
It’s predicted that the tail end of Tropical storm Chalane that has already hit Mozambique will pass through Botswana this weekend on it’s way to Namibia. I’m pretty sure most of this weather will be behind us once your course starts and I promise to try my level best to submit my homework on time but just wanted to give you a heads up that the power supply for our little town is very unpredictable.
