The intermediary services is an option we’d like to reserve for special cases.
We feel that if new users/traders send first it remediates the risk enough in most cases. older users have shown themselves to be trustworthy, you can’t scam and stay on the forum long after. They also have more to lose in reputation and benefits.
We want things to stay as seamless as possible. We will manually verify trusted traders.
Since they are here for the long term, it justifies the effort.
It sounds scary: “new rules”, but most people don’t need to change anything.
We’re fighting scammers not regular members who want to trade their possessions
We are also counting on the community to report suspicious behavior with a basic explanation and we will investigate. We might put a public warning while we check things out. If it’s really flag flag material, we’ll ban.
Scams don’t happen every week, it’s not a witch hunt.
