I have seen this multiple times. I would like to hear an explanation of why people do it.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren’t looking for anything logical, like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the NFT burn.

I have seen even much much more valuable NFTs being burn… Cannot get it. Maybe it just burns so well that some magical scent appears :D
I would rather sell it it low, which can be sold even in hours, than burn it, lol

Imo its a pretty selfish act. Not knowing any reasons, but if a person doesn’t want an NFT any longer, simply gift it away, right? Let your friend or family obtain its benefits then if you yourself don’t want or like it anymore. Heck, send it to me 
I will gift it away then.
