Emotional eating

Long time since ive been asking for help in here, and im not sure if its still ok to.

But im looking for fields to counter my stress eating / emotional eating. Assosiate food with something good again. Im thinking thats the root of my problems. Im not present when eating i just throw it in there because of well, my bad emotions.

Hi Dan

Sure you can ask here

I just remembered a quote saying it’s not what you are eating but what’s eating you.

Have you explored the emotions that you mentioned?

Feeling depression, feeling like a failure, all alone with my own problems, feeling like nobody cares, my parents totally dont. My father gave me up when i was little when all i wanted was his approoval he went with my step mother and stopped giving me good advice. Began to give me bad instead.

So i eat fast for some of these reasons. Man i need to talk to some psychiatrist.

This is a good suggestion you gave yourself. There are probably other professionals you might approach that would be helpful too. Is this a viable option for you, or just one you said quickly?

Don’t just rely on fields, they won’t make your depression go away, you need to work on yourself. If you can afford, talk to a psychiatrist or else get onto chatgpt or google AI and ask it to be your therapist, have a dialogue, they really make you think from a different perspective.

Also watch HealthyGamer GG videos on youtube, Dr. K gives really great advice on so many things related to mental health.

It sounds like there is no source of active listening near you that can affirm your concerns.

In the event that psychologists are booked out for a bit, the below is a tool mentioned in MHFA programs for active listening. It uses chat box technology to fill an active listening gap people have in today’s isolated world.
