I have a question for those in developed countries… Why should we limit ourselves to following cultural standards when we could just be ourselves? We are all different and unique in our own ways and finally have the space and freedom to explore our uniqueness and express it to the world… rather than just try be like what society says you should be. The people that do, suffer more because they are constantly trying to meet expectations and fit into shoes that don’t exactly fit them.
We all are born with a different degrees of feminine/masculine energies, different astrological signs, different parents, environments, culture and experiences that shape us all into the people we are today. Niether one of us is exactly alike and so why should we have to conform to a standard of the right way of being? The right way to be is to be yourself. Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law.
Standards were necessary in a world of scarce resources and competition for them. We had to follow a set of rules to survive. But many of us are are still very keen on following these rules and wanting everyone else to follow them too. These standards are literally made up. They’re illusions and everso more meaningless now in a world where safety, food and shelter is so readily available to all. I don’t know why many people want to revert back to certain standards.
Why limit ourselves by choosing to be insecure about who we are because we don’t meet the standards of the ideal man or woman, ideal status, ideal looks, ext? Trying to meet these standards is suffering itself. Because even if you do eventually meet the standard, you fear losing it.
I dont think people realize how much the world is about to change. We already have attained more time and freedom than we’ve ever had in history through exponentially increasing the means of production. But now with automation that comes from AI, we are going to be freed up in many more ways than most people can even imagine. Society has to begin rethinking how we exist here if muuuuuch less work will be needed from humans to keep society afloat.
And I think the new purpose of humanity should be to grow ourselves and eachother. Heal the world together and find peace amongst eachother. That’s a worthwhile purpose to live for and that can certainly be achieved as a collective. To then create, explore and discover things together. To live up to our full potential as humanity and mature enough to finally become a part of the galactic neighborhood and find more of ourselves throughout the universe.
The old way of humanity just doesn’t mesh with the modern world. It is still ‘me against the world’, we still compete, fall to greed and fight to control eachother in a world that doesn’t require these things anymore. This old pattern caused so much suffering and destruction throughout human history, why continue following it?
Survival of the fittest is nature’s battle royale for limited resources. So why are we humans still in the survival of the fittest state of mindset when there is more than enough for everyone?
It’s an old pattern that we instinctually follow and that the powers that be, manipulate us to keep following. There is no good reason we should still be following this pattern. But we do because the modern dangers of the world are all we avoid about ourselves and the world… andwe survive by pushing through the suffering that this avoidance causes. That is rather miserable and it really doesn’t have to be this way.
