You posted something that resonated with me and I wanted to post it again.
'That’s true. I’ve been here and gone in the past. One thing that was always a bit weird for me was that just about everyone was running after Captain Nemo for everything.
There weren’t very many people who had their own dedicated activities that they were involved with and had a desire to share with a community. Instead, it seemed like most people were trying to define their path as getting projects made for them by Captain.
It reminded me a bit of a critique of christianity that I heard in a youtube video — spirituality is like riding a bike; Jesus was trying to get people to ride that bike, but the church was trying to get people to ride Jesus.
Looking back at the history of things, the xtrememind forum was all over the place. But it had vibrancy and diversity because people had a sort of drive to ascend without being tied to one way of doing things or one technology/technique. Looking back, it’s kind of crazy how much was put on just one guy.
Like, with all the stuff we’ve got now, there should be hundreds of posts about how we’re all advancing with self development. Breaking out into astral travel and clairvoyance, possibly experimenting with making fields on our own. I’m a bit gobsmacked and flabbergasted that it hasn’t developed like that.’
I’ve never been able to put it into words like you just have but I very much agree with what you’ve said here. So many users here would just depend on Dream to create things to fix their issues. There weren’t many people forging their own paths and finding new things or tips to share with others.
Xtrememind was pretty awesome because majority of people there were experimenting and creating their own stuff or learning new things to share with people. In here, the pressure was mainly all put on dream.
That critique on Christianity really hits home. For years, my biggest issue with Christianity is that people wouldn’t strive to behave like Jesus and walk the path at all and instead would pray to him and have him solve their issues. There isn’t any growth in that.
We’ve been adamant about this for years really. Especially me and all I know is that I’ve tried my best to nudge people towards putting effort in their personal and spiritual growth in a multitude of ways. But often I’d feel like I wasted my breath because it didn’t feel like people were willing to go the extra mile that needs to be walked to actually change in life.
Anyways, just thought I’d share that your post hit me rather deeply.
